We delivers heroic, cutting-edge software engineering, data analysis, and AI/ML solutions built for the fight, ensuring operational success for every mission. We are a specialized group of intelligence experts, tech-savvy military veterans, and top-tier computer scientists with decades of experience producing innovative, cost-effective solutions that empower defense, intelligence, homeland security, and private sector mission sets.
Headquarters and Offices
Arlington
Located in the vibrant Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, VA – just moments from Washington, D.C. – Black Cape's primary office serves as the hub of our US and global operations. Its central location provides easy access for our teams and partners.
The Arlington office is where new Black Capers begin their journey with our "Black Cape 101" onboarding program, designed to foster collaboration and quickly integrate new hires into our culture. It's also a frequent gathering place for team sprint plannings, company-wide events, and, of course, our famously festive Holiday Party – a yearly tradition known for its team-building and celebratory spirit.
Austin
Located in the dynamic city of Austin, our small branch brings together a talented, close-knit team of software developers supporting national defense initiatives.
We blend the energy of a thriving tech scene with the unique culture and quality of life Austin offers—think live music, great food, and endless outdoor activities. It’s meaningful work in a place that makes it easy to enjoy the journey.
Other Black Cape Offices
Black Cape also has four other office locations where employees gather to meet specific customer requirements.
- Tampa, Florida: Located in close proximity to MacDill Air Force Base and other important locations around Tampa, the Black Cape employees in the Sunshine State are in the heart of the action delivering important capabilities to the warfighter each and every day.
- Charlottesville, Virginia: Nestled close to Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail, Charlottesville is a hidden but powerful hub for Intelligence and National Security affairs. Black Cape's presence in Charlottesville allows it to be a present and agile force for positive change supporting our government customers.
- Honolulu, Hawaii: More than a tropical paradise, our Black Cape Honolulu presence is well-positioned to support critical Pacific and INDOPACOM efforts both now and into the future. With numerous intelligence, national security, and defense efforts taking place within a short drive, the Black Cape team on Oahu powerfully supports the mission day-in and day-out.
- Bozeman, Montana: Well-positioned for supporting Western US initiatives as well as taking in the surrounding beauty, the Bozeman office supports many of the Cape's hidden efforts, including our outstanding Human Resources department as well as integration with outstanding academic institutions to posture the next generation for achieving greatness.
Although smaller than our two primary headquarters, Black Cape's offices are forces for good in this country, building national security, intelligence, and defense capabilities to support the warfighter in any clime or place.

We are a multi-disciplinary group of software engineers, data scientists, machine-learning practitioners, systems engineers, and leaders. Professional Development
We are passionate about software engineering and are always working to grow our skills. Our engineers are happiest when they are working with their colleagues on meaningful projects, using the latest technologies, and constantly growing their skills. Professional development is a constant focus at Black Cape and we invest time and resources to ensure the team is mentored on new technology that is relevant to our mission.
CAPE Mentorship Program
Black Cape has created a Career Advancement / Professional Excellence (CAPE) program in which each member will have access to mentorship sessions. Black Cape leadership will help match mentees with a mentor that best meets their technical, personal, and management goals. These sessions are open to all Black Cape team members and provide opportunities for them to work together to learn a new skill or practice a technique that they may not have experience in. It also helps ensure that a professional support structure is available at all times.

LearnIt
Engineers host informal "LearnIt" sessions to share tactics, techniques, and procedures related to technologies that we are using. Topics can range from ways to optimize your IDE workflow to recent project successes and how they can be applied elsewhere.
